Italian Dressing

This week will be full of fun. My husband and I are spending our 11th anniversary….(birds tweeting, and tweeting)

We don’t know where!!

We have decided to wait and see where the sale fares for the week may take us. A last minute spontaneous little adventure. We’ve talked about spending the weekend skiing somewhere, going to Vegas to catch a show, or even just enjoying a quiet weekend sans the children at home.

But while you’re here, enjoy this wonderfully delicious Italian dressing recipe! It’s wonderful on your lunch or dinner salad or paired with your favorite chicken recipe.

Italian Dressing

1 tsp dried or fresh basil

1 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp celery seed

1 tbsp garlic salt

2 tbsp dried oregano or 1 tbsp fresh oregano

1 tbsp onion powder

1 tbsp fresh or dried parsley

2 tsp salt

2 tbsp white sugar

2/3 cup canola or olive oil

2 tbsp water

1/4 cup white vinegar

In a small bowl, mix together all of the dry ingredients and set aside. In a blender bottle or small bowl, whisk or blend together the wet ingredients and two tablespoons of the dry ingredients until blended well. Store the remaining dry ingredients for another use. (I suggest freezing it in a freezer style bag, especially if using fresh herbs). Store dressing in blender bottle or pour mixture from mixing bowl to a mason jar or airtight container and store in refrigerator for up to one week.

    I love the look of this! I’m having such a love affair with stuffed green olives at the moment but haven’t yet been able to make a ‘wow’ dressing for them. This seems to be what I’ve been looking for! Thankyou! – Kathryn 🙂
