Recipe Contest

February 20, 2011

You probably know someone affected by diabetes. (And if you don’t, you know me, and our family is) My husband has had Type 1 diabetes since the age of 4. Yes, 4 years old. Since being married we have worked together to show others what diabetes is like when you are a family, and how it affects our entire family–from our kids to our relationship to our own personal feelings and struggles.

I am proud to be a part of helping with this years Diabetes Expo in Salt Lake City on February 26th. This year, we are pleased to have speakers like Gail Miller, wife of Larry H. Miller, Sean Busby, professional snowboarder living with Type 1 diabetes, and Burgandy Keel, former Biggest Loser Contestant. Whether you have diabetes or not, this will be a great event. Show your support for your family members or friends living with diabetes by encouraging them to come and attending with them!

This week, I’ve got a special giveaway! Just submit a diabetes friendly recipe to and you can be entered to win two tickets to the Larry Miller Megaplex Theaters. We’ve also have some other great giveaways this week and at the Expo that you won’t want to miss out on. (Prizes like tickets to the NASCAR race at the Larry H. Miller Speedway and more!!) I’ll try to keep you posted on all the giveaways this week if you’re interested.

You only have until this Wednesday to submit your recipe, so HURRY!!! Winners must be residents of the state of Utah and able to pick up tickets at the Expo on Saturday.

Here is one of our family favorite diabetes friendly recipes I shared a little while ago:

(if you’re stuck trying to find recipes or ideas on what makes a diabetes friendly recipe, click here). Bloggers/Facebookers: Mention this on your blog or on Facebook or Twitter and get two entries.
