Applebee’s Maple Butter Blondies Recipe

Our girls nights have included sitting around the table devouring these.

Date nights with my husband have included sharing bites of this soft brownie with crunchy walnuts and mapley flavored syrup sauce.

Heads turn at the restaurant when one of these famous blondies goes sizzling by.

The Applebee’s Maple Butter Blondie.

My husband was craving this and thought that we could find a recipe on the internet. We searched the internet together and came up with this recipe to try. I’m warning you though. I’m not posting the calories or carbs on this one. Or the fat. Wouldn’t want to ruin a perfectly good dessert on thinking about calories, right??

But it was fun making this recipe with the husband. It’s not often we’re in the kitchen together. But when we are–we’re making something delicious like this!!

Did it taste exactly like the Applebee’s recipe?

I will say it tasted incredibly good.


Brownie Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups unbleached white flour 
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 2 eggs 
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup loosely chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • Brownie Directions

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In mixer, blend sugar and butter until fluffy. (Approximately 1-2 minutes). Add eggs and blend until eggs are well incorporated into mixture. Add flour, baking powder, salt, and vanilla and stir until well mixed. Fold in walnuts and white chocolate chips. Pour batter into a 9×13 inch pan and bake for 22-25  minutes at 350 degrees. Brownies are finished when the top becomes shiny and hard to the touch. Do not overbake, or the brownies become very dry.

    Sauce Ingredients

    3/4 cup pure maple syrup (do not use imitation maple syrup!!)

    1/2 cup butter

    3/4 cup brown sugar

    4 oz softened cream cheese

    Sauce Directions

    In a saucepan over low heat, combine butter and maple syrup. Stir mixture and continue cooking until butter melts. Stir in brown sugar and cream cheese until dissolved. Remove from heat. Place 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts into a small cup to use for later if desired.

    To assemble brownies:

    Place one warm brownie in a bowl. Top with one scoop of vanilla ice cream, desired amount of maple butter sauce (approximately 2-3 tbsp) and additional walnuts on top if desired.

    Makes 12 servings.
