Homemade Cinnamon Applesauce

My kids LOVE applesauce! At first it took them awhile to adapt to the taste of homemade applesauce, but now they love it and don’t want anything else! In our family, we love homemade cinnamon applesauce. This is our favorite recipe…

4 medium cooking apples, cored and quartered

1 cup water

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1/2-1 tsp cinnamon

1/8 tsp nutmeg

In a large saucepan, heat apples and water over medium heat until mixture begins to boil. Reduce heat to simmer, allow apples to cook an additional five to ten minutes, or until apples become tender. Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Bring mixture to a boil again, remove from heat, then allow to cool until ready to serve.

This mixture can be stored in the fridge for 2-4 days, or you can freeze it for longer if desired.

**Brown sugar Splenda can be substituted for brown sugar if desired.
