Banana Bread

February 15, 2010

This is another recipe that works great when you are starting on the road to healthy eating. It’s a deliciously moist bread that tastes great! The applesauce is a great alternative to using oil and gives it the perfect taste! This is one of our favorite family recipes!

2 cups unbleached all purpose flour

1/2 cup whole wheat flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp cinnamon

4 bananas, mashed

1 cup sugar

3 egg whites

2 tbsp oil

1/2 cup applesauce

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray loaf pan with cooking spray. Combine all ingredients until blended well. Bake 45-60 minutes until toothpick or knife inserted in center of loaf pan comes out clean.

Carbohydrates: 12 slices per loaf=16 gm/slice
